Seeing matches in real life is an amazing experience. I know lots of people who have never seen a match in their lives. But when they get into the stadium atmosphere, they understand the magic.
Poor dad was waiting for his daughter hahaha. I can definitely relate and being the over worried dad when my daughter will get out like this. But luckily, i'm still few years ahead of this.
Thank you so much for reading and sharing your thoughts! You’re absolutely right—there’s nothing quite like the energy of a live match. The stadium atmosphere truly is magical.
Your daughter will be lucky to have such a caring and watchful dad when her time comes. Hopefully, she’ll also manage to surprise you with an adventure or two of her own!
It's truly amazing watching sport live of any sort. I'm glad you enjoyed it despite the little tricks and situation with your dad. Sounds like he was proud you went, after all. Love the moon picture!
Thank you so much, Pilgrim! Watching live sports really is an incredible experience.
As for my dad, I wish I could say he was proud, but that was definitely not the case. He’s never happy with me doing things he considers ‘useless' or ‘unworthy’ or ‘wrong’, and this was unquestionably one of those moments. Still, it was worth it for the memories I made.
And yes, isn’t the moon picture beautiful? It felt like a perfect little souvenir from the night!
You’re still young and hopefully you’ll be able to teach your dad a thing about the useless stuff… here’s hoping. It may take you a few decades. I know my dad is similar. Especially about going to concerts. But recently, I was being admonished for not taking his grandkid to the live football game… surprised. But we went and no one was happier than him. So am telling you, there’s hope. Hang in there.
Wow! It’s funny how perspectives can shift over time. Maybe one day my dad will surprise me too, though it might take those 'few decades' you mentioned! I’m glad your dad came around and found joy in something he once didn’t value—it must have felt so rewarding.
It caught me by surprise. When I wanted to go to to games or concerts it was no 50% of the time. And now they ask why I don’t go as much! Hahahahahaha. Patience and perseverance pays off.
Haha, isn’t that ironic? It’s like they forget all the times they said no and now expect us to change gears magically! 😅 But you’re right—patience and perseverance do get the job done. Hopefully, I’ll get to that point too someday. Until then, I guess I’ll just keep surprising them with my stubborn streak.
This was amazing to read.

Thanks, John! Your post is a perfect snapshot of modern paradoxes: criticizing the very things we lean on.
