Dear readers,
I am thrilled to share with you some exciting news—I am soon going to be a published author!
After countless hours of pouring my heart and soul onto the pages, I am overjoyed to see my words come to life in the form of a poetry book. The thrill of seeing my words bound in a collection fills me with immense joy and gratitude, and I cannot wait to share this labour of love with all of you.
This journey has been a deeply personal one, filled with introspection, inspiration, and the raw beauty of poetic expression. Each poem within this collection is a piece of my soul, a reflection of my experiences, emotions, and the world around me.
This project has been a tapestry of emotions. From the quiet moments of reflection to the bursts of creativity that ignited the page, crafting this book has been both a challenge and a joy. It is a testament to the power of words, the beauty of language, and the universal truths that poetry has the ability to capture.
As poets, we are entrusted with the profound task of distilling the complexities of life into language, of articulating the ineffable truths that resonate within the human heart. Through this book, I endeavour to capture the myriad shades of emotion, the kaleidoscope of memories, and the timeless beauty of the human spirit.
While I eagerly anticipate the moment when I can hold this book in my hands and share it with you, there is still much excitement to come. From the delicate selection of cover art to the meticulous arrangement of poems, every step of the publication process is a testament to the power of collaboration, creativity, and unwavering dedication.
I can't reveal all the details just yet, but I promise to keep you updated every step of the way.
To all of you who have supported me along this journey, whether through words of encouragement, heartfelt feedback, or simply by being a part of this community, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support means everything to me, and I am endlessly grateful for each one of you.
So stay tuned, dear readers, because there's so much more to come. And until then, keep dreaming, keep creating, and keep embracing the beauty of poetry.
With love and anticipation,
Saumya

P.S. Here's what I’ve been loving on Substack this week:
‘Passing’ by
. It's a reminder that life is a journey filled with both joy and sorrow and that being open to change is an essential part of living fully.‘My depression is more depressing than your depression’ by
. This article touches upon a deeply concerning phenomenon in modern society – the glamorization and trivialization of mental illness, particularly among young people. It's troubling to witness individuals, especially adolescents, feeling compelled to adopt mental health conditions as part of their identity or as a means of fitting in.“you Google ‘the most painless way to kill yourself’ because you can’t imagine carrying on but you also can’t imagine not carrying on” - been there, done that. And trust me, it’s not a good feeling.
‘Female Fear and Victimhood’ by
. The poem grapples with the societal expectations and constraints placed upon individuals, particularly women, and how they navigate and resist these forces. It confronts the discomfort and unease surrounding victimhood, acknowledging its complexities and nuances while also rejecting simplistic narratives that equate it with weakness. The final lines, "We are a knot in the throat of a what. Let it choke them." encapsulate a sense of defiance and empowerment, reclaiming agency and rejecting the constraints imposed by others.
What have you all been following this week? Let me know in the comments!!
Sending love 💌
I’m not sure what “dancing a jig” looks like anymore—but that’s what I would be doing! I hope to have the same experience one day myself!
But today, Saumya, belongs to you! 👏👏👏
Congratulations!
